St. Albans Church Leicester:
St Albans church in Leicester is a large red brick building which
was built in 1905. In 1980, many internal alterations were made to
the building structure, this included a gas heating system, which
at the time proved suitable. Further funds became available in 1995
which meant that a rearrangement of the church could be made. This
meant that a new and more flexible heating system needed to be found.
The original gas system was proving expensive to run and could only
heat the east wing of the church.
Graham Wright of A D W Partnership considered various heating methods.
Finally a scheme was developed by Tansun using a total of 15 quartz
heaters and a dedicated control system.
Tansun heaters are cost effective and simple to install, the heaters
heat only solid objects and not the air between which means that the
air is pleasantly fresh and not stuffy.
