Scottish National Golf Centre:
The newly opened Scottish National Golf Centre, a purpose-built complex
in Drumoig, near St. Andrews, combines outdoor driving facilities
with a large indoor practice area designed to cater for the vagaries
of the Scottish climate. The indoor area has been designed to include
bunkers and putting greens complete with Mediterranean-style palm
trees, plus there is also a general sports hall.
And it is in both these areas where 22 Tansun Apollo heaters are keeping
temperatures in line with the tropical style.
Bob Fagan, of McGill Electrical, explained: " The original plans called
for warm air heating but that would have proved uneconomical. Quartz
heating has lower capital costs, is easy to install and offers more
flexibility than traditional heating systems." Richard Goodall, design
engineer, for Jaydee Heating Ltd who installed the heaters said: "
The heaters were easy to install and provide instant heat on demand."
