WARMER GOLF RANGES MEAN BETTER BUSINESS
Year-round repeat business is the key to optimising club profits, and making ranges welcoming whatever the weather is one way to encourage players back time and again.
One golf club that has recently installed Tansun electric quartz radiant heating on its ranges is the new and highly successful Northwick Park, developed by Playgolf in Harrow, Middlesex. The venue, which has been designed as a genuinely inclusive golf and leisure facility for the whole family, has 58 bays, each of which has a Tansun Algarve patio heater wall-mounted and controlled by means of a push-button timer.
Playgolf head of projects David Postins says that installing heating on ranges is a matter of policy, as the company works to make range practice more enjoyable and accessible.
He said: “The heaters are available in the winter months and are individually controlled by the range users. We see them as another means which might tempt people out of their armchairs and down to the range on a cold winter’s night. They are well-used, and so clearly a popular addition to the ranges.
