Severn Trent Water Vehicle Workshop:
A series of 25 quartz heaters from West Bromwich specialists Tansun
proved the perfect answer when East Midlands Electricity was asked
to provide a solution to the cold and draughty conditions at a Severn
Trent Water vehicle workshop.
Workers at the 390sq metre workshops in Finham, Coventry, where a
fleet of 40 vehicles are repaired and maintained, found the existing
fan heaters were unable to cope. The workshop has roller shutter doors
at both sides which provide little insulation when closed but which
are, in any case, frequently opened, exposing the workshops to the
elements. East Midlands Electricity commercial development engineer,
Martin Wager approached Tansun for advice on how best to create a
zoned heating scheme which would enable different areas of the workshop
to be heated either separately or together. Tansun recommended their
Apollo AIB 030 and AIC 045 heaters respectively under the control
of a single timer switch to limit operation to working hours.
Mr Wager said: " By using quartz heaters we cut out the problem of
warm air being lost through the open doors at a stroke. I have used
Tansun products for a number of years. They provide a quality product
and service which I know will be up to the task for which it is required."
