THE HEAT IS ON AT LEGOLAND® WINDSOR:
Electric quartz heaters are an important building block in the success
of al fresco dining at one of the UK's top tourist attractions - LEGOLAND®
in Windsor. Sixteen wall-mounted Algarve heaters, manufactured by
quartz heating specialist Tansun, are helping keep diners warm in
outdoor seating areas at four of LEGOLAND's self service restaurants.
Tim Kane, LEGOLAND food and beverage director, said: "We expect 1.5million
visitors to Legoland this season - that is 1.5million potential customers
for our restaurant sites.
"Our season lasts seven months and even in the height of summer there
are days when it would be too cool to sit out and eat in comfort.
By adding heaters in the outdoor eating areas we have maximised the
number of places where people can sit and eat, and also enhanced our
visitors' experience of LEGOLAND."
Tansun manufactures the world's largest collection of quartz heaters
for indoor and outdoor use, which includes both wall-mounted and free-standing
models. The Algarve range has recently been redesigned and extended,
offering a choice of 1.3kw and 2kw options, to provide effective heating
to areas of up to nine sq. metres and 14 sq. metres respectively.
Tansun marketing manager Lynn Parsons said: "Quartz heaters radiate
heat instantly to people or objects within the beam, leaving the air
between unheated. They are therefore ideal for outdoor seating and
dining areas where warmth that does not blow away is needed.
"Being powered by electricity they are clean and economical and do
not give off any fumes or smells - important considerations, especially
in areas where there are children and where food is being served."
The Algarve is IP54 rated, making it the world's first all-weather
outdoor-rated electric heater, so it can be left permanently in position.
